To know more about Visa, Please check the following faqs.

What is Visa ?

A visa (from the Latin charta visa, meaning “paper which has been seen”) is a conditional authorization by a country (typically to a foreigner) to enter and temporarily remain within or to leave that country. It typically includes limits on the duration of the foreigner’s stay, territory within the country they may enter, the dates they may enter, or the number of permitted visits. In each instance, a visa is subject to entry permission by an immigration official at the time of actual entry and can be revoked at any time.

What are Different types of Visa ?

Visa are categorized by purpose of visit (Transit, Tourist, Business, Employment, Family Visit,), by duration of stay (long stay, Short Stay), by number of entries permitted (single entry, double or Multiple), method of issuance or even by their validity (On Arrival, Electronic, Sticker or Stamp).

What is Common Visa ?

Normally visas are valid for entry only into the country which issues it. Countries that are members of regional organizations or party to regional agreements may, however, issue visas valid for entry into some or all of the member states of the organization or agreement e.g. Schengen, CARICOM

What is Schengen Visa ?

The Schengen agreement covers most of the European Economic Area, plus several other adjacent countries. The visa allows a tourist, family or business visitor access to the area/countries in the agreement (known as the “Schengen Area” or “Schengenland”, currently consisting of 26 countries) for a maximum period of 90 days within an 180-day period. A Schengen visa is typically not valid for long-term stays nor for visits to overseas territories of Schengen states.

Which Countries take part in the Schengen Agreement ?

There are currently 26 European countries in the Schengen Agreement, 22 of which are member states of the European Union. Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. These states don’t have border & immigration check and you travel seamlessly.

If I am Travelling to more than one Schengen Country, at which embassy do I submit my application?

If the applicant is planning to visit two or more Schengen countries, Traveler needs to apply at the embassy/consulate of the country you will be residing in for most of the traveling days, referred to as the main destination. It is strongly recommended that you travel to the  Schengen state that issued the visa as it will impact your future applications with same Schengen state.

Why is Visa Refused ?

In general, an applicant may be refused if t the traveler does not meet the requirements for admission or entry under that country’s immigration laws.Common reasons for refusal are the poor presentation of your application, insufficient funds, fake or dummy documents, inappropriate travel insurance, Travel history etc.

For more details contact our office  Our professionals have expertise in handling application which is complex or needs to be presented appropriately.

What is the Difference between Passport and Visa ?

A passport is an official government document certifying your identity and citizenship. It allows you to regain entry to the country of your citizenship and is necessary to apply for the visa or gain entry into foreign countries. On the other hand, a visa is an official government document that provides temporary authorization to be in the country you are visiting. Many countries require a visa, rather than a passport, to gain entry. A visa usually is a stamp in the passport itself or a paper authorization from the country you wish to visit.

Many countries require passports to be valid for at least six months beyond the dates of travel, so renewing earlier is better. Our office has heard from many travelers who arrived at the airport only to be told they could not board their flights because their passports were too close to the expiration date.
